As the title suggests,a lot of dressers around the country are somewhat against Stone Island these days. And rightly so, the terraces[and most Town centres] have been awash with moody copies for some time now. So id agree that its a bit of a 'no no' at the football these days. If not to avoid the identi-kit feel it has now, it can also attract the 'other' unwanted kind of attention. Still, away from the match i still love some Stone Island pieces. I tend not to buy the very overpriced new stuff anymore but aim for whatever vintage stuff i can get my hands on.
Last week i managed to source a cracking vintage overshirt/jacket.
The colour probably isnt every ones cuppa but what can i say, i love it!
Do you know what mate, for the first time in 13 years i've started to think about wearing SI again. Some of this winter's gear has a definate old school feel about it. I was having some of the Fila gear but after The Firm and Daily Star doing a casual guide, fuck that.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest mate, ive never really stopped wearing SI. And i agree that there have been some really spot-on new pieces. But i dont really wear it to the match anymore and havnt for a few years now.
ReplyDeleteIts always been at the top end of the price racket in terms of clobber,so another reason for me 'not bothering' with it so much these days is that id much rather spend my hard earned on various garments apposed to one jacket.
And i suppose im a little begrudged on pretty much all SI products losing the 'little black tag' and now being made in the likes of Romania!!!
I still always cant resist a look at the new seasons kit though!
